Larisa Kalugina — Dutch language tutor online

Your tutor

I have been teaching languages since 2010 and help students not just learn Dutch, but use it confidently in everyday life, work, study and communication in the Netherlands.

My connection with the Netherlands began long before I started teaching. For more than 15 years I worked as an international journalist, travelled to the Netherlands frequently, conducted interviews for business publications and saw first-hand how the language sounds in a real professional setting. I later lived in the Netherlands for 5 years, so I understand not only the language but life in the country itself: conversations with neighbours, letters from the Gemeente, paperwork, work, daily routines and cultural nuances.

My approach combines communicative methodology and the lexical approach. This helps students gradually start thinking in the language rather than translating every word in their head. We study grammar through context too — clearly and practically.

My legal background helps me explain administrative and business language: letters, contracts, documents, KvK and official formulations. And if you need Business English or IELTS preparation, I work with those as well.
